Giving appreciated stock and other securities is simple. Transfers can be as quick as a phone call and a written     confirmation since our Foundation has accounts with most major brokerage firms. The gift value is fair market value on     that day, and you pay no tax on capital gains. Please review the helpful forms below for more info.

Planned giving can offer financial flexibility in meeting your personal and charitable goals. Planned gifts can be made     through your will, trust or a beneficiary designation of retirement plan or other assets. Some planned gifts can provide     you or others with lifetime income.

Individuals who are age 70½ or older can make gifts of up to $100,000 directly from their IRA account to one or more     qualified charities, without paying federal income tax on the withdrawal.
Donors who have an IRA and are fulfilling an existing pledge, or wish to make an outright gift to benefit UMD Athletics,     may want to make a qualified charitable distribution.

You cannot receive goods or services, or a personal benefit (such as tickets for events) in return for the gift.

Whether you've just started a job at the U or have been here many years, join your colleagues who take pride in     supporting Bulldog student-athletes through a faculty or staff gift, which may provide income and tax advantages.

You can give now through payroll deduction or later with a planned gift.

Corporate philanthropy with UMD Athletics supports student-athletes in a variety of ways. Corporate engagement     includes long and short term investments, donation of products and services, employee volunteerism, and career     services engagement.
