2015: Was given special teams and reserve linebacker assignments in his inaugural collegiate go-around ... served as senior outside linebacker Mark Nahorniak's primary relief man ... played in eight games (with the last of those coming on Oct. 31 at Northern State) and generated 12 total tackles  ... seven of those stops came on back-to-back weekends in victories over Mary (four tackles) and Minnesota Crookston (three).
2014: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD:  Four-year letterman and three-starter at linebacker for Menasha High School ... played under head coach Jeremy Korth ... Fox Valley Association South Defensive Player of the Year and Linebacker of the Year (2013) ... All-FVA South Conference (2012 and 2013) ... All-Region  (2012 and 2013) ... All-Region Defensive Player of the Year (2013) ... All-Wisconsin State honorable mention (2013) ... team captain (2013) ... also lettered three years in baseball (outfielder) two in basketball (forward) at Menasha High School.  
PERSONAL:  Is the son of Paul and Shelly Schiessl ... is majoring in electrical engineering at UMD.
