BEFORE UMD: His impressive 2011 resume at Marshall High School included the following: Minnesota Mr. Football Award finalist, Associated Press All-State (second team), All-Southwest Conference Offensive Back of the Year (for the second season in a row) and the Marshall Independent Player of the Year (for the second straight time) ... topped the state in regular season rushing touchdowns with 27 ... wound up his senior year with 1,423 yards on the ground, another 431 pass receiving yards and 37 total touchdowns ... helped lead 2011 Tigers to a 9-1 overall record and a perfect 8-0 mark during the regular season ... ran for 59 touchdowns during his three seasons with the Tigers, the fifth most in Minnesota prep history ... played under head coach Terry Bahlman ... also has been a standout with both the Marshall track (sprints) and basketball (guard) programs.
