Jessa Schlafke

Jessa is in her first year as an athletic trainer back at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  Originally from Stevens Point, WI, she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Athletic Training at UMD in 2010.  After graduating, she served as an intern working primarily with football at UMD for one year.  She then earned her Master of Science in Athletic Training at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV in 2013.  Following that, she was an associate athletic trainer at Lake Erie College for two years.  Prior to returning to UMD, she was the football and men's hockey athletic trainer at the University of Wisconsin Stout for seven years.


Jessa is a member of the National Athletic Trainers  Association and serves a a preceptor for the College of St Scholastica Athletic Training Program.  She is also trained in Graston M1 and Muscle Energy technique and is a certified instructor through the American Red Cross.  She provides health care to the football and indoor track teams.
