BEFORE UMD: Started three years at Spring Valley High School. Played Cornerback, Free Safety, and Wide Receiver for the Grizzlies. Was named a Defensive MVP in 2019-20 and a Second Team All-Conference CB during the 2019-20 season. Served as a team captain during his final two seasons at Spring Valley. Also competed in the Long Jump while at SV. 
PERSONAL: Is the son of Eyob Gelletu and Fitsum Zewde ... has one sibling (Adonyas) ... is majoring in finance at UMD.
