Biography

AS A BULLDOG
2017: Fate, in the form of a late-season upper body injury, intervened in what had been a promising year ... missed a third of the season, but still managed to rack up more tackles (a career-high 47) than all but one Bulldog (Zach Bassuener with 61) ... made seven starts at inside linebacker ... was in on 11 stops (a 2017 UMD single-game best) against Minnesota State-Mankato on Sept. 23 ... turned in one of the more memorable plays of the season the following week -- a leaping block Wayne State's 20-yard field goal attempt in the first overtime of UMD's 34-31 double OT Bulldog triumph ... also had three pass breakups (all against Upper Iowa, which was one shy of a Bulldog record), 7.5 tackles for a loss and two fumble recovers as a junior ... served as UMD's primary long and short snapper for the second straight year
2016: Came into his own and sparked plenty of special teams and defensive mayhem ... ranked seventh among Bulldogs in total tackles with 32 stops ... four of those tackles were behind the line of scrimmage ... also listed 2.5 sacks, four pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, two blocked kicks and one forced fumble on his sophomore year stat line ...equaled a Bulldog 2016 single-game best by having a hand in 12 tackles at Minnesota Crookston ... made his first collegiate start in the NCAA II playoff clash at Emporia State.
2015: Shined on the special teams, but also showed plenty of encouraging signs as a backup linebacker ... led all Bulldogs in special teams tackles with nine (including seven on the kickoffs) ... racked up 28 total tackles overall and also had a pair of pass breakups
2014: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD:  Secured a spot on the Associated Press All-State Team as a senior at Big Foot High School in 2013 ... was chosen the Rock Valley South Defensive Player of the Year that season on addition to attaining All-RVC and All-Region acclaim for the second year in a row.
COLLEGIATE HIGHS: Total Tackles - 12 vs. Minnesota Crookston (10/29/16). Sacks - 1.0 (3 Times). Tackles for a Loss - 2.0 vs. Sioux Falls (8/31/18) andat Minot State (10/8/16). Pass Breakups - 3 at Upper Iowa (9/9/18).
