AS A BULLDOG:
2017: Appeared in seven games and (just as was the case before) had his two pass receptions come at the expense of Mary ... the second of those was a five-yard scoring toss from John Larson in UMD's 62-27 regular season triumph over the host Marauders (giving him three touchdowns in four career catuches).
2016: Did not see much in the way of passes thrown his way, but made the most of those that did ... caught two passes all season and turned both into touchdowns in a 75-14 victory over Mary in the last Malosky Stadium clash of the year ... was among the 21 Bulldogs who took part in all 12 games.
2015: Got called into action on seven occasions, including the first and final games of the season ... was one of four UMD tight ends to letter and one of two to finish the year without a reception.
2014: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Three-time football letterman (tight end and linebacker) and two-year starter at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School ... played under John Hanks and Pat Krieger ... attained All-North Suburban Conference honorable mention status in 2013 and was the Red Knights' yards per receptions leader that season (19.6) ... caught at least one pass in all 10 games as a senior and had 18 catches and five touchdowns  in all ... was a prep teammate of current Bulldog senior defensive back Sam Lynch ... also lettered four years in hockey (right wing and defense) for the Red Knights.  
PERSONAL: Is the son of Michael and Lisa Sims ... is majoring in communication at UMD.
