Biography

AS A BULLDOG:
2017:  Was handed the keys to the starting left offensive guard job at the outset of the season and didn't give them back ... lined up along side fellow junior and tackle Matt Juneau on the left side in all 12 starts ... earned NSIC All-Academic Team honors.
2016: Maintained the No. 2 left offensive guard assignment -- for the second season in a row -- supporting starter Nolan Folkert ... received a healthy dose of game-day combat, playing all but three of the club's 12 engagements ... qualified for the NSIC All-Academic Team.
2015: Got the opportunity to work the offensive trenches in four games -- including the opening two of the year.
2014: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD:  Four-time football letterman (offensive and defensive line) and three-year starter at Duluth East High School ... played under head coach Joe Hietala ... All-Mississippi Conference first team (2012 and 2013), Duluth News--Tribune All-Area first team (2012 and 2013) ... Section 7AAAAA first team (2013) and honorable mention (2012) ... Greyhound team captain (2013) ... also lettered three times in track (shot put) and twice in basketball (center) at Duluth East High School. 
PERSONAL: Is the son of Matt and Yvone Yernatich ... one of his older sisters, Marisa, was a four-year basketball standout at Minnesota State-Moorhead (2009-13) ... earned a B.S. degree in finance in Dec. 2017 from UMD and is now pursuing an M.B.A. degree.
