BEFORE UMD:  Four-time letterwinner (linebacker, running back, and long snapper) one-year starter for Moose Lake-Willow River H.S. ... played under coach Dave Louzek ... team captain (2013) ... All-Great Polar Football Alliance Conference selection (2013) ... Minnesota State tournament participant (2010-13) ... Prep Bowl participant (2011 and 2012) ... also lettered in hockey (wing), basketball (forward)  and track (All-Conference and school-record holding long jumper). PERSONAL: Is the son of  Jon Evenson, Sr. and Leslie Bakhtiari.

Coach John Steger says: "Jon is a hard nosed linebacker who has shown the ability to be a play maker.  He is a welcome addition to our linebacker corps."
