AS A BULLDOG:
2016: Took another leap forward as a junior and was rewarded with an All-NSIC North Division second team citation ... spread his five receptions out over five games and had one scoring catch to his credit (at Minnesota Crookston) ... totaled 56 receiving yards -- the most of any UMD tight end ... played in 11 outings  -- seven as a starter -- and has now made 37 career appearances, which is tops among all 2017 Bulldogs (senior wide out Nate Ricci shares that honor with him).
2015: Was promoted to full-time first-team status at tight end and didn't disappoint  ... caught four passes (one each in four separate outings) and scored his first touchdown as a Bulldog (a 26-yard reception) in UMD's 66-17 home victory over Minnesota Crookston on Oct. 24.
2014: Spent the year relegated to special team affairs and a backup tight end role  ... did appear in each of UMD's 14 games, however, and started in two of those ... picked up his first collegiate pass reception at St. Cloud State on Oct. 11.
2013: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Lined up as Eastview High School's starting tight end for three seasons and captained the Lightning as a senior ... played for head coach Kelly Sherwin ... was an All-South Suburban Conference honorable mention selection in 2012 in addition to attaining academic all-state honors …  also attained three letters with the Lightning track and field contingent.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Keynon Sr. and Susan Phillips ... is majoring in mechanical engineering at UMD.
COLLEGIATE HIGHS: Pass Receptions - 1 (10 Times). Pass Reception Yards - 19 vs. Minot State (11/14/15). Pass Reception Touchdowns - 1 (2 Times). Longest Pass Reception - 19 yards vs. Minot State (11/14/15).
