Biography
AS A BULLDOG:
2022-23 (Senior): Granica started in 31 games and appeared in 35 games fro the Bulldogs throughout her senior season. She continued to be a key player to come off the bench, averaging 20 minutes per game and 5.2 points per game. Granica ended the year shooting 66-159 (41.5%) from the field and collected 38 assists, 19 blocks, and 16 steals.
2021-22 (Junior): Granica appeared in all 29 games for the Bulldogs during her Junior year. Granica increased her roll this year and was one of the first players off the bench as she averaged 16.4 minutes per game this season. Granica also improved her scoring (5.4 ppg) and rebounds (2.9 rpg) on the season. Granica also became a more consistent scorer as she improved her field goal percentage to 48.7% and three point percentage to 36.4%.Â
2020-21 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 16 games the Bulldogs played during her sophomore season, averaging 12.1 minutes per game. Shot 37.5% percent from the field averaging 3.1 points per game and collected 2.1 rebounds per game. Went 15-19 78.9% from the charity stripe, recorded four steals and three blocks on the year.Â
2019-20 (Freshman): Played in 10 games for UMD in her first go around... saw 22 minutes of action... had two points on the year... went 1-for-5 from the floor for a .200 shooting percentage from the floor... grabbed a total of four rebounds on the year.
BEFORE UMD: A 2019 graduate from Amery High School • played varsity for four seasons, starting in all of them for the Warriors • played under her coach Gabe Brotzel • named D3 All State her senior year and had an honorable mention her junior year • named MVP every year • helped the Warriors to be conference champs her senior year • captain of the team 2017-18 and 2018-19 • took many school records down, including leading scorer • competed in volleyball and softball for the Warriors.
PERSONAL: Madelyn Granica was born in Amery Wis. • daughter of Carl and Heather Grancia • has two siblings, Drew and Regan •  participated in NHS, Student Council, FCA, and earned MBC Scholar Athlete, WIAA Scholar Athlete Honor Roll, and All-Academic All State • enjoys drawing and painting, being outdoors, and being organized • is undecided in a major but is interested in finances.
