2016: Accompanied seven other Bulldogs on the All-NSIC North Division first team  ... also nailed down Don Hansen All-Super Region 3 third team status ... teamed with All-American Peter Bateman to form one of the best left side combinations in NCAA II football ... started all 12 games and helped pave the way for a UMD offense that racked up the second-most total yards (536.7 per game) and sixth-most points (45.1 per game) ....  was also used occasionally on short yardage goal-line situations at the fullback position and wound up rushing seven times for seven yards and six touchdowns ... two of those scores came in UMD's 39-19 victory over Northern State on Homecoming (Oct. 15).
2015: Took over the Bulldogs' starting left offensive guard assignment and battled through a season that was interrupted by an ankle injury ... missed four starts in October while nursing that ailment ... returned to Bulldog lineup for the Halloween road clash at Northern State ... wound up starting in seven outings game on the year.
2014: Got in an ample amount of reps as the primary backup at both guard positions ... played in 10 games (five home and five road).
2013: Was redshirted as a first-year freshman.
BEFORE UMD: Drew the curtain on three years of starting activity in Plainview-Elgin-Millville High School trenches in 2012 ... served as a team captain as a senior under head coach William Ihrke … nailed down a spot on the 2012 Associated Press All-State team … was named the Three Rivers North Conference Lineman of the Year that season as well ... made the All-Three Rivers North Conference and all-section teams for the second consecutive year in 2012 … also lettered in wrestling and baseball for the Bulldogs.
PERSONAL: Is the son of John and Jane Folkert ... is majoring in enviroment and sustainability at UMD.
