UMD CAREER:
2021: Became a mainstay in the starting lineup, splitting time with freshman Lauren Dixon ... started in all 19 games she appeared in ... amassed an impressive 12-5 record in 119.1 innings pitched ... pitched 12 complete games and tallied five shutouts ... generated a 2.05 earned run average ... recorded her first career no-hitter on April 6 against Minnesota Crookston.
2020: Went 2-4 in ten appearances before the season was canceled due to COVID-19 ... started eight games in the circle for the Bulldogs ... struck out 26 batters ... generated an earned run average of 2.78 in 50.1 total innings pitched.
2019: Was an instant source of assistance to the Bulldog pitching corps ... toed the rubber in 28 games (all as a starter) and generated a 15-9 record and a 3.06 earned run average while striking out 78 in 162.1 innings of work  ... posted three a team-high three shutouts and combined with Breanna Swint on another whitewash ... went 3-for-12 at the plate.

BEFORE UMD: Is a 2018 graduate of North Branch High School ... served primarily as the  No. 1 pitcher and outfielder for head coach Kathy Crudo, a former UMD assistant coach ... was a two-time captain  ... concluded her prep playing days with a runner-up finish in the Minnesota State High School League Class AAA Tournament ... earned All-State first team honors her senior season and capped off her last three seasons with All-Mississippi 8 Conference honors ... was a  VIKING award recipient in 2015 ... was also named the team's defensive MVP and qualified for a spot on the the all-conference academic team in 2016 ... also competed in tennis (doubles) for four years and three years of basketball at North Branch High School ... captained  both of those squads.

PERSONAL: Born Samantha Rae Pederson in North Branch, Minn. … is the daughter of Jason and Sandra Pederson … has two younger siblings (Erin and Bo) … is majoring in criminology at UMD.
