BEFORE UMD:  A four-year letterman (outside linebacker and wide receiver) and two-year starter at Steven's Point Area High School ... played under head coach Pete McAdams. .. All-Valley Football Association South first team (2013) and second team (2012) selection ... All-State honorable mention (2013) and All-Region (2013) ... VFA South champions (2012) ... Panter team captain (2013) ... also lettered three times in basketball (forward) and four times in track and field (high jump) as a prep and captained both of those teams. 
PERSONAL: Is the son of Bob and Gretchen Van Helden.

Coach John Steger Says: “Sean is a dynamic edge rush type player.  He also has the type of athletic ability we look for in an outside linebacker who needs to play in space.”
