BEFORE UMD: Became accustomed to winning at a high level in three seasons at Totino Grace High School … started for the Eagles’ during their conquests of the Minnesota State AAAA championship in both 2006 and 2007 … served as a team captain during his senior season and went on to earn North Suburban All-Academic Team honors … was coached by Jeff Ferguson at Totino Grace High School …also was a two-year starter in both basketball (center) and baseball (catcher) for the Eagles .
