BEFORE UMD: Three-year starter (tight end) at Marshfield High School and also handled the Tigers' placekicking and punting duties ... served as a team captain during his senior year, earning All-Wisconsin Valley Conference first team tight end honors that season after securing that same citation the previous fall as a placekicker ... landed a spot on the 2015 Gannett All-Central Wisconsin first team and was also selected the VFA-South Offensive Wide Receiver/Tight End of the Year ... played under head coach Dennis Goettl ... lettered in track (sprints) with the Tigers as well.
PERSONAL: Is the son of Kara and Bob McManus .... one of his siblings, Kyle, played two seasons as a football center for NSIC rival Concordia University-St. Paul ... is majoring in exercise science/health at UMD.
