John Curley joined the UMD cross country and track and field programs in 2018-19 as a volunteer coach, primarily working with the middle distance runners. One of those Bulldogs, David Supinski, reigned as the 2019Â NSIC indoor 600-meter champion and set a school record in that event.Â
A native of Windom, Minn., Curley competed in cross country and track and field at North Dakota State University from 2011-16, running the primarily the mile and 1,500 meters with that NCAA I instituion. He was named a Summit League Academic Distinguished Scholar four times in addition to attaining a Bison Most Valuable Scholar citation in 2016.
Curley received his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from NDSU in 2016 and went on to obtain his Doctorate of Pharmacy the following year. He later completed a post-graduate Year 1 Pharmacy Residency at Essentia Health - St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth. Curley currently practices as an Acute Care Pharmacist at St. Mary's Medical Center and serves as the Transitions of Care Team Lead.
