GETTING TO KNOW CHRIS TIMM:
Favorite Track Meet: NSIC Indoor Conference meet—lots of energy and chaos and great competition
Why I Chose UMD: I love Minnesota and have always wanted to experience living on the North Shore. I originally came to pursue this and to continue running track, and I have since fallen in love with all of Duluth and the Education and World Languages & Cultures departments at UMD.
Influences On My Athletic Career: My parents for being my biggest supporters in an event they knew nothing about and my high school coach and teammates for pushing me and making pole vaulting a great part of my life
Favorite College Course: Hispanic American Fiction in the Twenty-First Century
What Most People Don't Know About Me: I am a four-time MMTA State Piano Contest winner.
Most Memorable UMD Athletic Moment: Running the second leg of the jumpers 4x200m relay
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: My biggest superstition is not having a ritual: different warmups, different outfits, different music, no routine
Favorite Professional Athlete: Sam Kendricks and Gwen Jorgensen
