Biography

AS A BULLDOG:
2022: Stole the starting catcher role and started 52 games for the Bulldogs during her junior season. Posted a .338 batting average, 5 home runs, 54 hits, and 31 RBI. Her 31 RBI was third-best on the team. Went a perfect 9-for-9 on stolen base attempts. Was named Second Team All-NSIC for her work on the field. Also got it done in the classroom, earning NSIC All-Academic honors for the second time in her career. 

2021: Made an appearance in 33 games, starting 30 during her second season as a Bulldog ... stepped up to the plate 79 times ... had seven runs on 19 hits ... tied her career high with three RBI on April 11 against UMary ... scored a run in her first game of the season on February 12 ... ended the season with a fielding percentage of .944 and on-base percentage of .333 ... also excelled in the classroom, named to the NSIC All-Academic Team.

2020: Played in fifteen games during her freshman campaign which was shortened due to COVID-19 ... racked up 3 runs on 12 hits in 47 at-bats ... had a season-high three hits against Wayne State on March 8 ... career high three RBI on March 11 against Florida Southern.

BEFORE UMD: Spent the 2019 fall semester at Eastern Illinois University before transferring to UMD this past January ... is a 2019 graduate of East Ridge High School ... took over a starting role as an eighth grader and never looked back ... captained the Raptors to their first-ever appearance in the Minnesota State High School Class AAAA Tournament (where they finished fourth) as a senior  ...  served as a team captain the previous two seasons as well  ... attained Minnesota State Fastptich Coaches Association All-State and All-Metro honors in 2019 ...  participating in the MFCA All-Star Series in the summer of 2019  ...  was a four-time All-Suburban East Conference selection (2016-19) ... also lettered four times in hockey (all-conference defenseman) and was part of the the first Raptor team to make it to the Minnesota State High School Tournament. 

PERSONAL:  Born Sidney Samarah Zavoral in St. Paul, Minn. ... is the daughter of John and Janene Zavoral ... has three older siblings (MacKenzie, Maddison and Sophia) ... is majoring in integrated elementary special education at UMD.
