Jeremy Hamerquist was hired as the men's and women's hockey strength coach in July of 2025.
Prior to coming to Duluth, Hamerquist was a graduate assistant sports performance coach at Augustana University for two years (2023-24, 2024-25), where he served primarily the sports performance coach for men’s hockey -- creating the Viking's first sports performance program for the sport. He also assisted with the programming and implementation of exercise programs for acro and tumbling, freshmen football, softball, women’s soccer, and men’s and w omen’s basketball. His work with the Vikings was preceded by his stint as a volunteer sports performance coach at Colorado College in 2023. At CC, Hamerquist served as the primary assistant sports performance coach for the men’s hockey team and assisted with the women’s soccer program.Â
Hamerquist spent one season in the same role at the University of Denver men’s hockey team and assisted with men’s soccer in 2022-23. From 2016-25, Hamerquist was a Mountain High Hockey Sports Performance coach.
After earning a Bachelor of Excercise Science with a concentration in exercise physiology from William Patterson University of New Jersey in 2022, Hamerquist got his Master of Arts, Sports and Administrative Leadership from Augustana University in 2025.
