Hailey Houser joins the UMD women's basketball staff as a graduate assistant for the 2014-15 season.
A native of Kansas City, Missouri, Houser graduated this past spring after a four-year playing career at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Houser received a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice and criminology and will be continuing her education in UMD's Masters of Education program.
"Hailey is a great addition to our coaching staff," said Wiles. "Her NCAA Division I playing experience, and ability to teach our post players, will prove to be an important asset to our team."
While playing for the Kangaroos, Houser earned Summit League academic all-conference honors, as well as being named to the Commissioner's List of Academic Excellence, and last season, Academic All-Western Athletic Conference. Additionally, she coached AAU summer teams Kansas City Dell Lamb Running Angels 13 & Under in 2011 and the Kansas Eclipse 13U, 14U, 15U, and 16U the past two seasons. Houser was selected to be a part of the "So, You Want to be a Coach?" program at the 2014 Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) national convention in Nashville.
