UMD Athletics

2022-23 (Junior): Gilbertson started in 6 games and appeared in 32 games for the Bulldogs last season. Gilbertson saw an increased offensive role coming off the bench, averaging 24.3 minutes per game and 10.4 points per game. 

2021-22 (Sophomore): Gilbertson appeared in 26 games for the Bulldogs. She continued to be a consistent presence off the bench for the Bulldogs this season. She tallied her career high of 11 points in a big win over Concordia St. Paul. Gilbertson also improved her field goal percentage as she shot 42.4% on the season. 

2020-21 (Freshman): Gilbertson appeared in 14 games during her freshman season, averaging 11.7 minutes per game, the most of any other freshman on the squad. Gilbertson proved to be an effective bench option during her rookie campaign while she only averaged 3.7 points per game in limited minutes, she shot 38.5% from the field and beyond the long line and showed flashes of being an above average shooter. 

BEFORE UMD: Ella comes to UMD after playing high school basketball for the Bears, starting four straight years. She scored 1,000 points in her senior year, was aa captain her senior year, was 3x All-Conference in the Northern Suburban conference, 3x All-Area and was a 2x special mention All-State her junior and senior year. She participated in a 3-point competition her sophomore year and was apart of a regional and sectional winning team in 2017-18. She was apart of the National Honors Society as well as an honor roll student four years straight.

PERSONAL: Born Ella Grace Gilbertson... born in Highland Park, Ill.... is the daughter of Gerry and Gretchen Gilbertson... has one older brother, Andrew (22), and two younger sisters, Anna (15) and Leah (13)... is majoring in Communication Sciences and Disorders at UMD.
