Biography
AS A BULLDOG:
2022-23 (Senior): Rhoades stepped into her own as a Bulldog starter, starting in 35 games and appearing in all 36 games this season. She continued to show offensive success, averaging 7.4 points per game with a 40.6% field goal percentage. She proved herself as a support player and defensive weapon, collecting 92 assists and 28 blocks throughout the season.
2021-22 (Junior): Rhoades once again was the Bulldogs first player of the bench. She appeared in all 29 games this season and averaged 20.6 minutes per game. She was a consistent scorer and ball handler off the bench as she averaged 5.2 points per game on 41.4% shooting. She also averaged 4.2 rebounds and 2.5 assists on the season. She also took a step on the defensive end as she tallied 21 blocks and 15 steals.
2020-21 (Sophomore): Served as the Bulldogs sixth player, and the first to receive the call off of the bench, played in all sixteen games for UMD and averaged 18.8 minutes per game. Averaged 5.1 points per game while shooting 38.5% from the field and 33.3% from beyond the arc. Grabbed 3.2 rebounds per game and tallied seven blocks and seven steals on the year. Went 12-15 from the free throw line an 80% mark.
2019-20 (Freshman): Rhoades played in 29 games in her first year with the Bulldogs, playing in 12.6 minutes a night. while seeing ample playing time, Rhoades was able to drop 3.8 points per game, with 31 assists and seven blocks. Rhoades provided a solid shooting percentage from the floor, hitting 44.1% shots on the season. Rhoades made 75.0% of free throws (24-32) on the year and grabbed 1.7 rebounds per game, and added 10 steals as well.
BEFORE UMD: A 2019 graduate from Minnehaha Academy• played varsity for six seasons and was in the starting lineup the last four seasons for the Redhawks • played under coach Matt Pryor • made it to the state tournament six times • helped the Redhawks become state tournament champions in 2019 • named state tournament MVP in 2019 • six-time section champs • five-time conference champs • four-time All-Conference • captain senior year • Athena Award Winner in 2019 • run cross country and track and field for Minnehaha.
PERSONAL: Taytum Jo Rhoades was born in Edina Minn. • daughter of Jim Rhoades and Joanne Rachel • has three older siblings, Heather, James, and Terra • Participated in National Honors Society and graduated with high honors • she enjoys being outdoors • she is undecided on a major.
