GETTING TO KNOW COURTNY CARLSON:
Why I Chose UMD: I attended UMD for PSEO during my senior year of high school. I fell in love with the size of the campus, the trails surrounding it, and the Pre-Medicine program they have to offer!
Influences On My Athletic Career: My cousins Jeremy and Chad Polson inspired me, along with my friends and family. They have supported me throughout the years.
What Most People Don't Know About Me: I took guitar lessons for 3 years and played soccer through a recreational league.
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: Using essential oils and chewing gum.
Favorite Professional Athlete: Kara Goucher, always.
Sport I'd Like to Try Someday: Lacrosse or Basketball.

Years Lettered/Competed with Varsity: Sophomore-Senior Year, all 3 years
High School Highlights: Three-time Cross-Country and Track & Field letter award winner at Denfeld High School, 2017 Girls Distance Track Captain, 2015 Cross-Country Most Improved Award, 2014 Cross-Country Rookie of the Year Award, Ambassador of the “Soles4Souls” organization, President of HOSA, Daughter of the American Revolution “Good Citizen” Award, Honor D Award, Academic Letter Award, member of the National Honor Society, Key Club, and Student Government.
