Biography
GETTING TO KNOW LEXIE CHAMBERS:
Why I Chose UMD: I chose UMD because I love the area of Duluth with all of its outdoorsy things to do and the views. UMD also has very strong and competitive athletic teams with a very loyal fan base.
Influences On My Athletic Career: My sisters were both collegiate athletes as well, so growing up, they pushed me to be the best I could be. With their same competitive edge and athletic passion, they helped me throughout my running career. My parents have also supported me so much in my running career. I can always find them on the sideline cheering for me. It doesn't matter if it was a good or bad race. They are always willing to listen to me.
What Most People Don't Know About Me: I really love to bake. It's a hobby that I picked up all of a sudden. I think my grandma had a lot to do with this new passion of mine. She and I would always bake together when I was young. My favorite recipe to make (but mostly eat) was my grandma's famous Crazy Cake.
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: I really don't have any specific pre-meet ritual or superstition. I just try to get as mentally prepared as possible.
Favorite Professional Athlete: I don't follow many professional athletes, but I think I would have to say Des Linden. She's just super classy, strong, and inspirational to many runners like myself.
Sport I'd Like to Try Someday: I'd really like to try either Nordic Skiing or Downhill Skiing competitively because I love to ski for fun (even though I'm not very good at it).
