Emma Sobieck

Emma Sobieck will begin her first season as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs in 2023-24

Sobieck spent the past three seasonsĀ as a member of the Bemidji State University women's hockeyĀ coaching staff as an assistant coach. A 2017-18 Beaver Hockey captain, Sobieck joinedĀ the coaching staff after spending two seasons playing hockey professionally in Germany following graduation from Bemidji State in 2018.Ā Ā 

Following her collegiate career, she pursued hockey professionally in Germany as a part of the country's top women's hockey league the Deutsche Fraueneishockey-Liga or DFEL. She skatedĀ for ERC Ingolstadt in 2018-19 and was team captain for the Eisbären Juniors Berlin in 2019-20. During her two seasons and 51 games in the DFEL, Terres piled up 47 goals and 29 assists for 76 points and led Ingolstadt to the playoffs in 2019.Ā 

A USA Hockey 16/17 National Camp coach since 2021, Sobieck has been a MN HP 15 Development Camp coach and evaluator even longer, dating back to 2017.

Sobieck's collegite career at BSU inlcuded 146 games played for the Beavers between 2014 and 2018, skating in a whopping 145 consecutively.Ā  During that time, the forward native of New Hope, Minn. accumulated 48 points, which included 21 goals. She established career-high 22 points on a team-best 11 goals and 11 assists as a senior captain.Ā 

A graduateĀ of Robbinsdale-Armstrong High School, Sobieck earned a coaching certificate from BSU in 2018Ā and completed her Bachelor of Science in individualized studies at BSU in 2020. SobieckĀ is currently pursuing her Masters of Physical Education Coaching of Sport from Southwest Minnesota State University.
