Biography

2019-2020: Dressed in all 36 games ... named a 2019-20 WCHA All-Academic Team Member.

2018-2019: Suited up for the Bulldogs in all 35 games.

2017-2018:  Dressed in all 35 games for UMD as a freshman ... manned the pipes against the Korean Olympic Team in an exhibition, posting six saves on Jan. 5, 2018 ... made 14 saves against the Minnesota Whitecaps in an exhibition contest on Feb. 3, 2018.

BEFORE UMD:  Played for the Colorado Select club hockey program, and finished her high school career at the Northwood School in Lake Placid, N.Y. (Northwood was a member of the North American Prep Hockey Association for 2016-17) ... backstopped her team to the 2015-16 Eastern Junior Elite Prospects League U16/19 championship ... was named the EJ Playoff MVP as a result of her strong play. 

PERSONAL:  Born Hanna Marie Markel on November 5, 1998 in Frisco, Colorado ... daughter of Roger and Maria Markel ... has one younger sister (Maddi) ... is a 2017 graduate of Northwood School ... is a biology major at UMD.
