GETTING TO KNOW MARYPAT THUNE:
Favorite Track Meet: 2017 NSIC Outdoor Conference Meet- good competition and good weather!
Why I Chose UMD: Duluth is the best city ever, the top ranked Electrical Engineering department, and the opportunity to throw for UMD.
Influences On My Athletic Career: Ever since I was younger, my parents have helped me follow my aspirations and always support me no matter what. They’ve pushed me to climb to my highest potential.
Favorite College Course: Digital Logic
What Most People Don't Know About Me: I don’t have a middle name and I have a twin!
Most Memorable UMD Athletic Moment: My first meet was pretty special cause it was actually my first track meet ever and was super thrilling to jump (or throw) into something new!
Pre-Meet Ritual or Superstition: I like to have a cliff bar and an orange before every meet. It’s the dynamic duo for PR’s.
Favorite Professional Athlete: Max Kepler of the Minnesota Twins, exceptional right fielder and has the key to my heart.
Sport I'd Like to Try Someday: Olympic curling cause I can SWEEP any competition.

High School Attended: Osseo Senior High
Years Lettered/Competed with Varsity: Didn’t compete in Track in HS. Lettered in Softball Junior and Senior year.
High School Highlights: Varsity Softball & Cross Country (had UMD CC “C” team qualifying time just saying); didn’t fall at Cross Country Skiing conference meet, but fell at CC skiing section meet; finessed a 3.6 GPA; Went to state for Photography.
