Biography
2013-14: Literally bronzed her freshman season by winning an Olympic bronze medal with Switzerland, adding a goal and an assist in Sochi .. missed eight games due to Olympic duties but still ranked No. 4 in the nation among all rookie scorers with 22 points on four goals and 18 assists in 28 skates ... the only defensman in the NCAA in the top-15 scoring rookies, she also ranked No. 8 in scoring among all blueliners ... named to both the All-WCHA Third Team and All-WCHA Rookie Team, she also garnered a WCHA Rookie of the Week nod on Oct. 16, 2013 after recording a goal and four assists against then No. 6 North Dakota on Oct. 12-13, 2013 ...scored in her first five college skates, racking up two goals and seven assists for nine points between Oct. 4-Oct.13, 2013 ... registered the most points by a rookie defenseman since Jocelyne Larocque contributed 26 points (4g, 22a) in 39 games during the 2007-08 season.
BEFORE UMD: Hit the collegiate ranks having played three full seasons with the Swiss national team … held down the blueline for the ZSC Lions of the Swiss A League last winter, where she was part of a national championship club… finished third in the entire league among defenders with 24 points (eight goals, 16 assists) in just 11 games played ... prior to 2012 skated for EHC Seewen boys team.
PERSONAL: Born Lara Stalder on May 15, 1994 in Luzern, Switzerland ... daughter of Markus Stalder (deceased) and Susanna Stalder ... has one older brother (Dario) ... a 2013 graduate of Wirtschaftsmittel schule in Luzern ... is a Business major at UMD.
