After a one year absence, Caleb Johnson has returned to the University of Minnesota Duluth men's hockey staff as the program's new Director of Hockey Operations. 

Johnson takes the reigns from long-time former Bulldog Director of Hockey Operations Christian Koelling. From 2021-2025, Johnson worked alongside Koelling as the UMD Hockey Operations Assistant.

Last season, Johnson was an Assistant Coach/Director of Hockey Operations at Long Island University in Brookville, New York.

"I'm incredibly excited to return to UMD and join the Bulldog family in this new role," said Johnson. "I'm grateful for the opportunity and look forward to getting to work and contributing to the program's continued success."

Johnson also spent five years as the Bulldog Hockey Camp Assistant Camp Director from 2020-25, and three seasons with USA Hockey as part of the Coach Developer Team from 2021-24.

In May of 2024, Johnson earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from UMD with a minor in Marketing.
