The University of Minnesota-Duluth had one more matter to attend to before it embarked on a three-week Holiday break and that was a Monday night exhibition men's hockey matchup with HC Riga 2000 of Latvia.

The Bulldogs will now head into the lengthy layoff on a high note thanks to a 5-2 victory at the Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center.

Five different players scored for UMD, including sophomore defenseman Steve Czech, junior left wing Tyler Brosz and sophomore center Tim Stapleton, who all were credited with one assist. Junior right wing Nick Anderson and sophomore left wing Justin Williams also tallied for the Bulldogs, who are now off until a Jan. 2-3 non-conference home series with Bowling Green State University.

Junior Matt Klein finished with 15 saves on the night while Edvins Silavniks and Edgars Masalskis combined for 34 stops for Riga, which finished its three-game WCHA tour with a 0-3-0 record.
