Evan Schwabe, the Western Collegiate Hockey Association' stop returning point getter, has been selected to the preseason All-USCHO second team. He was among just three WCHA skaters to secure one of the 12 spots on the group's first or second units.



A native of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Schwabe enjoyed one of the greatest breakout seasons in Bulldog history last winter, racking up 19 goals and 38 assists following a 10-point sophomore year.

Schwabe, who is one of a school-record 11 seniors who UMD will have at its collective disposal this season, will serve as team captain in 2004-05.

UMD makes its season debut this Thursday and Friday with a two-game non-conference series at the University of Notre Dame.
