University of Minnesota Duluth thrower Kayla Odegard (Fr., Thompson, N.D.) broke her own UMD outdoor track and field record in the javelin throw Wednesday at the UMD Bulldog Last Chance meet at Griggs Field. The freshman's throw measured 128' 02\", out distancing her old mark by over three inches. Senior thrower Josh Dark (Sr., Wausau, Wis.) also highlighted the event bettering his provisionally qualifying status in the hammer throw with a new mark of 176' 04\". He currently ranks 21st on the national hammer throw charts.
The Bulldogs will be in action one more time before the 2004 NCAA Division II Outdoor championships this weekend when they take to the track at St. Olaf College in Northfield. Minn. for The Qualifier. The meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m.
