Isaac Reichmuth's arrival on the UMD campus three years ago and the University of Minnesota Duluth's recent return to college hockey prominence (i.e. a trip to the 2004 NCAA Frozen Four) is no mere coincidence.
Reichmuth, a senior netminder from Fruitvale, British Columbia has put up some recording-breaking numbers during his Bulldog career -- including posting the best goals against average (2.83 as of Feb. 16) and saves percentage figures (.901) in the program's 62-year history. The two-time All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association selection and 2004 NCAA Midwest Regional MVP also needs only four more victories to become UMD's all-time leader in that department (he's amassed a 56-44-15 record in 123 career appearances).
Twice selected as the WCHA's Defensive Player of the Week this winter, Reichmuth's puckstopping prowess will be vital for the Bulldogs as the face three nationally-ranked opponents during the final three weekends of the 2005-06 regular season.
