Haley Irwin.
The freshman forward from Thunder Bay, Ontario was named the WCHA Rookie of the Week for her point-garnering performances against the University of North Dakota. Irwin notched a goal in each game as the No. 4 University of Minnesota Duluth women's hockey team took over first place in the conference after sweeping the Sioux 9-2 and 3-2 this past weekend.
The Team Canada U-22 member netted a tally and four assists in the series opener before adding a goal in Sunday's contest. Irwin is currently tied for second as one of the top point getters for UMD (4-6=10) in her first 10 college appearances.
Irwin, who becomes the fourth UMD player to be named a WCHA Player of the Week this season, and her fellow WCHA-leading Bulldogs will resume play next weekend when they host the No. 6 University of Minnesota Saturday and Sunday at the DECC. Game-time for Saturday's contest starts at 3:37 p.m..
