BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: ALEX STALOCK

It all starts with goaltending.

The University of Minnesota Duluth will carry a seven-game unbeaten streak – its longest in some five years – into the Christmas holiday break and one of the prime reasons for this recent surge has been the stellar play of its puckstopper extraordinaire, Alex Stalock.

During the past seven games, the junior netminder and San Jose Sharks draftee has compiled a  miniscule 1.52 goals against average (allowing just four even strength goals in the process) and a .947 saves percentage while going 4-0-3.  That effort has vaulted Stalock, a two-time WCHA Defensive Player of the Week honoree already this season, into the top spot on the league's goals against average charts (2.15 overall).
