Fontaine(Spotlight)

Men's Hockey

BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: JUSTIN FONTAINE

If Justin Fontaine has proven anything this winter it's that 2008-09 was no fluke. The University of Minnesota Duluth standout right winger racked up a career-high 48 points one year ago as a sophomore en route to attaining All-Western Collegiate Hockey Association second team acclaim and in 2009-10 he's made life just as miserable for opposing goaltenders.

Heading into this weekend's first round WCHA playoff series with Colorado College, Fontaine's scoring totals show 21 goals, an NCAA-leading 13 of which have come on the power play, and 21 assists in 35 outings. That gives him 90 points over the past two seasons -- a figure unmatched by any of his WCHA comrades and by only two other skaters in the entire country.
