With 114 points in voting, the University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team was placed fifth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference preseason poll.
After finishing sixth in the conference last season with a strong finish, the Bulldogs sit one point ahead of Northern State in the rankings and eight points behind Minnesota State-Moorhead.
With 162 points and seven first-place votes, Wayne State is picked to win the conference outright this season, followed by Winona State and Augustana College.
UMD starts its season on the road at Northern Michigan November 13.
