UMD Bulldogs "ALLETE" Moments: Competition
Throughout this year, UMD Athletics is partnering with Minnesota Power, ALLETE to highlight the Bulldogs accomplishments in the 3 C's: Classroom, Competition, Community.
Myra Moorjani,
Ashley Fritz, and
Lexi Karlen of the University of Minnesota Duluth women's basketball team have earned selections to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team for their efforts on and off the court in the 2025-26 season.
Senior guard from Eden Prairie, Minn., Moorjani earned her third CSC Academic All-District selection and has advanced to the CSC Academic All-American ballot. She completed the season with an average of 13.5 points, 1.3 steals, 3.4 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. She holds or ties multiple of the team's season individual game-highs in field goal attempts (18), three-point field goals made (5), three-point field goal attempts (11), free throws made (12), and assists (10). Overall, she has 420 points, 41 steals, nine blocks, 105 assists, and 107 rebounds. She also earned an NSIC All-Conference First Team selection.
Junior guard from Hastings, Minn., Fritz earned her first CSC Academic All-District selection after joining the Bulldogs. By the end of the season, she averaged 6.1 points, 1.3 steals, 1.1 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. In all, she earned 194 points, 43 steals, eight blocks, 35 assists, and 107 rebounds.
Junior guard and small forward from Stillwater, Minn., Karlen was awarded her first CSC Academic All-District selection. This season, she totaled 56 points, five steals, three blocks, nine assists, and 33 rebounds.
The trio helped UMD complete the season with the program's fifth Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) North Division title, 16th NCAA Tournament appearance, and second trip to the Elite Eight field. En route to their Elite Eight appearance, the team toppled a No. 1-seeded Minnesota University Mankato in the opening round, a No. 4-seeded Central Missouri University in the second round, and a No. 2-seeded Concordia University St. Paul in the Central Region Championship to become the first No. 8 seed to advance to the Elite Eight field since 2011.
