Junior forward Maureen Stormont scored in each half as sophomore goalkeeper Marissa Rosa and the University of Minnesota Duluth defense shut out the University of Mary 4-0 in a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match in Bismarck on Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (9-2-0, 8-1-0 NSIC) continue a four-match winning streak in defeating the Marauders (2-9-1, 2-6-1 NSIC). The UMD offense once again came out strong in the first half, scoring three goals on ten shots, including eight on-net. Stormont scored her first of the game in the 31st minute, assisted by senior forward Dani Potter and freshman midfielder Marissa Ganske. Junior forward Katie Schneider would get a one-time pass from Potter just four minutes later that she buried for her first of the year. The Bulldogs got another first just before the half as junior defender Megan Helberg netted her first of the year, a header off a Jennifer Smith (Jr.-Mid.) corner kick.

Stormont extended the lead with her eleventh of the season in the 63rd minute, while the UMD defense held strong the rest of the way to preserve Rosa's third shutout of the year. Rosa was pressured in each half, needing seven key saves to keep the Mauraders off the board. On the other side, U-Mary goalkeeper stopped 11 of UMD's 15 shots on net. The Bulldogs outshot the Marauders 22-11 overall in the match.

UMD continues on the road next weekend but remain a little closer to home as they travel to St. Paul and Mankato to take on Concordia University, St. Paul on Friday and Minnesota State University. Friday's match with CU is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start with the Bulldogs and Mavericks kicking off at 1:00 p.m. Sunday.
