The University of Minnesota Duluth celebrated its Dig for a Cure Night with a Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference victory over Minnesota State University-Moorhead, defeating the Dragons 3-0 on Friday evening.
The Bulldogs (19-1, 9-1 NSIC) won three sets by nearly identical scores, 25-17, 25-17, and 25-18. The first set saw UMD pull away early to a 12-3 and hold on as the Dragons (11-7, 4-6 NSIC) battled back. The final two sets saw MSU-M give the Bulldogs one of their toughest home challenges of the season. Still, UMD is now seven-for-seven in earning three-set sweeps at home, outscoring opponents 525-332 on their home court.
Senior outside hitter
Kate Lange had another strong night offensively for the Bulldogs, hitting .545 with 20 kills. She is now just 61 away from claiming the distinction of most in a UMD career. Sophomore middle blocker
Monica Turner barely missed double digits with nine kills while also added a pair of block assists. The Bulldogs hit .306 as a team while holding Moorhead to an .070 kill percentage.

The Bulldogs return to their home court at Romano Gym tomorrow afternoon for another NSIC match-up as they take on the Wolves of Northern State University. That match is set for a 4:00 p.m.
