Some 69 different individuals have served as a full-time University of Minnesota Duluth team captain during its 70-year hockey history, but only a handful didn't have to wait until their senior season to do so. Count
Adam Krause among them.
The junior right winger from Hermantown, Minn., who is sharing the Bulldogs' team captaincy designation this winter with senior
Joe Basaraba, already has established career highs for points and goals in 2013-14 while munching up more minutes than perhaps any other UMD forward. Krause, a Western Collegiate Hockey Association Scholar-Athlete Award recipient one year ago, has now skated a regular shift in each of the past 68 games -- a streak that dates back to the midway point of his freshman season and one that is unmatched by any current Bulldog.
This Friday and Saturday night, Krause and the Bulldogs will close out 2013 with a two-game National Collegiate Hockey Conference home series against Western Michigan University.
