The University of Minnesota Duluth still has a few details to work out with its 2014-15 men's hockey schedule but one thing is now for sure -- the Bulldogs will open the season at the Ice Breaker Tournament at the Compton Family Ice Arena in South Bend, Ind.
The site as well as the four-team field for that event was announced today by College Hockey Inc., and will include UMD, host University of Notre Dame, the University of Minnesota and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI).
The Bulldogs have taken part in only of the previous 16 Ice Breaker Tournaments and that was in 2003 when they went 0-1-1in East Lansing, Mich. UMD last paid a visit to the Compton Family Ice Arena this past October and wound up splitting a two-game non-conference series with Notre Dame.
