BULLDOGS LOOK FOR REBOUND WIN ON THE ROAD AT NORTHERN MICHIGAN TUESDAY

The University of Minnesota Duluth will look for a rebound victory Tuesday when the Bulldogs travel to Northern Michigan University to take on the Wildcats in the team's final non-conference tilt of the regular season.

UMD (3-2) dropped a pair of tough defeats over the weekend, falling at the buzzer Saturday against Michigan Tech University 60-58 while the University of Wisconsin-Parkside pulled away late to knock off the Bulldogs 79-61 at Romano Gym on Sunday afternoon.

• Junior guard Brendon Pineda netted a season-high 23 points as the Bulldogs fell at the buzzer to Michigan Tech while shooting 58.8 percent. Last week, he averaged 15.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game on the week to go with four assists and a block.
• Senior guard Reece Zoelle put together the most complete game of his season, netting 19 points for UMD on Sunday against Wisconsin-Parkside. Zoelle went 7-of-11 from the floor with five rebounds, three assists, and a key steal that set up a score to put the Bulldogs down just three with a chance to pull even before the Rangers got hot and put UMD away.

14475• Northern Michigan (1-2) picked up a much-needed win last Wednesday over Finlandia after opening the season with a pair of defeats at the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference/Great Lakes Valley Conference Challenge. UMD is 33-33 all-time against the Wildcats but have not met NMU since the 2008-09 season.
• Freshman guard Jordan Perez and senior Larry Taylor lead the Wildcat offense, each averaging about eight points per game. Taylor has shot 71.4 percent so far on the young season.
• Senior forward Chavis Mathison has averaged 5.3 rebounds in his 18.3 minutes per game. Senior guard Taylor Nash averages four assists for Northern.
