BULLDOG SPOTLIGHT: MAX TARDY

Max Tardy

Max Tardy has the opportunity to accomplish something which few hockey collegians have done -- bookend his playing career with a pair of  NCAA championships. Tardy was a rookie with the Bulldogs three years ago when they captured their first national crown and struck for his lone goal that season in the Frozen Four title clash against the University of Michigan. Talk about a memorable moment.

The Duluth East High School product skated in all 41 games the following winter before being juggled in and out of the Bulldog lineup as a junior. This season, Tardy, through hard work and perseverance, appears to have again latched on to a regular playing assignment, working out of the center position for each of the last eight outings. He and his Bulldog teammates, armed with a seven-game unbeaten streak and a No. 16 national ranking, will head to St. Cloud, Minn., this weekend for a two-game series with National Collegiate Hockey Conference-leading and top-ranked St. Cloud State University.
