The University of Minnesota Duluth wrapped up its 2014 indoor track and field season Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division II Championships in Winston-Salem, N.C.

Cole Toepfer finished 14th in the mile prelimaries with a time of 4:18.94 and failed to advance to Saturday's finals. He later ran a leg for UMD in the distance medley relay. That unit, which also consisted of senior
Tyler Stevens and junior Phil D'Entremont and
Chris Wilson was the first DMR group to ever compete in an NCAA II national event, settled for 10th despite dropping a baton midway through the race. Their time of 10:07.30 was just 3.09 seconds shy of an All-American performance (eighth place).
