The University of Minnesota Duluth took the third game and the series against Saint Michael's (Vt.) College with a sixth-inning rally that downed the Purple Knights by a 7-6 final at Lake Myrtle Park in Auburndale, Fla. at the RussMatt Central Florida Invite. After three weather delays this afternoon, game four was officially rained out.

Sophomore left-hander Bo Hellquist sat down Saint Michael's (1-2) in order in the first inning for UMD (3-5), and the Bulldogs got up 1-0 in the bottom of the first when Cody Aasen (Sr./LF) hit a two-out RBI single to drive in Jimmy Heck (So./3B). The Knights answered back with six runs in the top of the second, knocking the Bulldogs' ace from the game after just a pair of innings.

Freshman righty Marco Lucarelli (1-0) came in out of the pen and shut out the Knights over the next four innings. Freshman 2B Skyler Wenninger had the next two RBIs for UMD, launching a solo shot in the third and a sacrifice fly in the fourth, with another rain delay in between. The Bulldogs offense sparked as they rallied for four runs against a pair of SMC pitchers in the sixth inning. After a lead-off single by DH Grant Farley, Beau Goff ripped a double. A pair of walks later and Heck drove in a pair of runs of his own. After an intentional walk to the birthday boy, first baseman Alex Wojciechowski, Aasen lifted a single to the outfield to score the game-tying and go-ahead runs. With two on and two out in the top of the seventh, sophomore Ryan Lakin entered to get the final out to earn his first save of the season.

The Bulldogs close out the Florida trip on Wednesday afternoon, taking on West Chester University of Pennsylvania (5-2) and Johnson University-Florida (0-19) in single, nine-inning games. Opening pitch against WCUPA is set for 10:00 a.m. CT in Auburndale, Fla.
