Stadium Journey discovered what the University of Minnesota Duluth faithful have known all along -- that AMSOIL Arena is a great college hockey venue.

The monthly web site magazine, which focuses on rating stadium experiences from around the world, released its 2013-14 U.S. college hockey rankings  and selected AMSOIL Arena as the nation's  No. 1 facility. All but two of the 59 NCAA I hockey arenas were reviewed by Stadium Journey.  The 6,756-season AMSOIL Arena, which has been the home of Bulldog men's and women's hockey since the midpoint of the 2010-11 season,  received a perfect five stars from Stadium Journey for concessions, atmosphere, location, access, ticket prices, and extras, and four stars for fans.

"AMSOIL Arena was designed to take the history of hockey in Duluth and capture it all in one place, and capture it, they did. With no expense spared, AMSOIL Arena challenges the likes of (the University of North Dakota's) Ralph Engelstad Arena long considered to be the best arena in college hockey, for the title. While Amsoil may not surpass Ralph Engelstad in terms of atmosphere, it has the means to give it a run-for-its-money.
