The heavy snow that hit the Northland Thursday didn't stop a select group of University of Minnesota Duluth track and field athletes from making their way south to the Bolstorff Twilight Meet on the Macalester College campus in St. Paul.
The small group of Bulldogs were led by a second-place showing by senior
Cole Toepfer in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. The UMD team captain clocked a 9:42.44, in his first time ever competing in the event. Other UMD top six finishes were registered by junior
Jacob Nelson in the 200-meter dash (5th place; 22.61), senior
Jason Coffin in the 5,000-meter run (5th; 15:15.75) and freshman
Josh Regorrah in the pole vault (6th: 14'-01.25").
The Buldogs will trek to St. Peter, Minn., this Saturday (April 26) to compete in the Drake Alternative Meet, which is being hosted by Gustavus Adolphus College.
