University of Minnesota Duluth's junior Dan Nielsen has been chosen the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Track Athlete of the Week for his stellar performances at last Saturday's Ashton May Invitational in La Crosse, Wis. Nielsen, a junior from Andover, Minn., captured the 5,000-meter title with a outdoor personal-best  time of of 15:11.45 after placing fourth in the steeplechase in 9:35.68 earlier in the day. That's the best steeplechase clocking of any NSIC competitior thus far in 2014.
